Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada's smallest province located on the east coast of North America. The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
This program nominates individuals to the federal government for permanent residency. Individuals are chosen based on their ability to economically establish and their intent to live and work in PEI. Current key needs that are being met by the PEI PNP are filling gaps in labour market and attracting entrepreneurs.
- PEI Express Entry : Applicant can apply for a PEI Express Entry nomination for permanent residency through the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
To be eligible for nomination through PEI Express Entry, candidate must meet the requirements of at least one of the Federal Economic Immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program;
- Federal Skilled Trades Program; or
- Canadian Experience Class
Create a Federal Express Entry Profile and be placed in the pool of candidates. There are two pathways to permanent residency through the PEI Express Entry Category, depending on if applicant have a job offer in PEI or not. Priority will be given to applicants that are living and working in PEI. There is no fee to create an Expression of Interest. If selected for nomination by PEI, the application fee is $300 CAD which must be submitted with the application.
Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest System:
The Office of Immigration has created a new Expression of Interest System. All foreign nationals interested in applying for permanent residency through the Business Impact Category, Express Entry or Labour Impact Category must create an account and profile through on-line Expression of Interest System.
Immigration through the Prince Edward Island through Business Impact Category, Express Entry or Labour Impact Category is a three-step process:
Step 1: Create an account and submit the profile in the Expression of Interest system
Step 2: The highest-scoring qualified candidates with a connection to Prince Edward Island are invited to submit an application to the PEI PNP
Step 3: Following a thorough review of the paper application submitted to the Office of Immigration, Prince Edward Island nominates successful candidates to make a separate application to the Government of Canada for permanent resident visas for applicants & their families.
